As far as I know you can not anodize in white but you can powder coat on white.

The existing paint/finish would have to be stripped off and p prepared for powder coating

Yup, you cannot anodize in white. You can powdercoat, but on an area like the cranks that are prone to bashing into rocks etc (assuming its on a MTB), powdercoating is more susceptable to chipping. I find it's also difficult for powdercoaters to get a smooth glossy finish. Rather have them spraypainted in 2k and baked properly at a panelbeater/painter. They can colour sand the clear coat and buff it to a perfect shine.

I am sure Mikes Bikes used to stock nice white Sugino or SR Suntour white SS cranks, for around R400. They were supplied from Dragons, the Giant and Santa Cruz agents.

Also, get yourself some Race Face crank protectors. They work like a charm and look trick.

Ek het my race face crank laat sandblast en toe laat spray by n panel beater. Dit het goed gelyk toe dit nuut was, maar na n tydjie het die klippe dit maar redelik opgeneuk. As dit eers begin chip lyk dit slegter as n swart crank.

Hey Hubbers,

You can anodize in white. Actually, you can anodize any color you want, it just costs to buy the dye. We in the paintball community have our paintball markers custom anodized often by Splash Anodizing Services.

Check him out on his web page and facebook:

I have personally had my paintball marker anodized by him, he offers amazing customer service and is quite skilled and won't stop until the product is perfect. Scratches are not a problem is they aren't too deep, they can be polished out, or sanded and then polished. The results will be amazing.

See the elusive white anno on his Facebook page and give him a shout.

Check out the chrome bicycle parts he has done aswell.

Don't let the chainring restrict you too much, as you can play with different rear sprockets to find your comfortable ratio.
