Dropper Post

So I'm pretty much decided on getting a dropper post as next upgrade.

Couple of quick questions if you can help a novice out?

1. I think I want the KS lev - best place to find one around CPT/Stell/Northern Suburbs?

2. Current frame seatpost diameter is 31.6 - but this is an entry level frame (and the last original component of my bike!). How much play is there with these things If I upgrade frame to something with 30.9 mm say? (eg. a Pyga one ten). I see there are two different models, but can I use adapters?

3. I can just route cable along the old path for the now-extinct front derailleur?

New dropper post

Like a rose between two roses sits Marzocchi’s new dropper post. It's cable operated, but has a hydraulic damping/locking mechanism which delivers a smooth action (we just had to have a go!) and can lock the post anywhere within its 125mm of travel.

Both external and internal cable-routing options are to be produced, and pricing is said to be £230 and £259 respectively.

The new Marzocchi dropper certainly looks promising

A release date for these products is yet to be confirmed, but March was mentioned as an estimate. We can’t wait!

How do the owners of the Spez Command Posts feel about the product? I can get one brand new from my LBS for R1500. Its brand new but I think 2012 model.

GET IT.  JUST DO IT.

The middle setting is useful for riding trails or getting started up steeeeeep uphills.

As for the ball-busting attributes, jeez it really is not that hard to sit on the saddle and then gently raise it...it's not like you can do it by accident.

Go 1X10 and mount the seatpost control on the left.

to add, go 1x10 or 11 and connect the dropper to the front derailleur grip shift, it can be done. I just haven't done it yet myself :whistling:
