Hendrik vd Walt Posted January 7, 2014 Share What is good replacement for ZTR Arch rims to save some rotational weight for rider under 75kgs? And will it be worthwhile to do?
M L Posted January 7, 2014 Share ZTR arch ex (50g?)ZTR crest (120g?) No not worth the money IMO. If you have heavy hubs then I would consider it.
Wil6 Posted January 7, 2014 Share I thought ZTR Arch is pretty much up there with the best of them?
kennyg Posted January 7, 2014 Share I can put you onto MTB tubbies, save about a Kg, for a complete tyre and rim set up over a RaRa evo and crest. Rims retail @ R800 each and I have 10 x tyres left that will go for R1000. Performance is great, tyre is tough, flexible and rims are inexpensive. Biggest advantage to reduced rolling resistance and better cornering. Impossible to burp.

Daniel J Méssem Posted January 7, 2014 Share ZTR crest would give you 90g per wheel (80g if you have Arch EX) Tires could also be considered, spokes and nipples also Edited January 7, 2014 by Daniel J Méssem

jcza Posted January 7, 2014 Share Think I will give it a miss - R 2990 for a 29r wheelset is way too cheap for me. (1727gr for set so its not exactly light)

(1727gr for set so its not exactly light)Oompieneed to get those old eyes tested.those wheelsets are using the 450g TR29 rims not the Scandium ones, also sure you could go lighter on hubs too.so just on rims alone you drop 232g so1727g becomes 1495g Edited January 7, 2014 by jcmeyerSS
