Has anyone managed to enter for events via the new website? I am trying to enter for the marathon and my son in the half, but i can not do it. The website wants me to enter myself, then logon as my son and enter him, double admin and 2 payments.

 

You can only bulk enter entries for one distance

 

While the contact us page is blank, so no chance of sending an email

 

 

How do you enter for the events guys?

The 'contact us' page is useless in any case. They have never responded to any of my e-mails. Good races, bad admin.

Never had a problem so far

 

Have entered for both Dullstroom & Sabie on the new site

 

& also all email queries have been responded to timeously,& satisfactorily (haven't tried phone, but haven't needed to)

 

Also a big ups to Tim_Fair for all the feedback & comms on these forums as well !

Also not having a lot of joy trying to enter . It keeps on telling me " your session has expired , please log in again " when I enter my or my wife's id numbers . ?? Have tried it a few times now .

I had no problems when entering for me and my wife for different distances...

 

How? Last year i entered myself and son, clicked checkout and went straight to credit card payment, easy 5 min exercise. Now an hour later I can still not enter 2 different distances and pay once.

Which race are you entering for. For sabie i had to do different payments as its the MTN events on the saturday and the Nissan events on the sunday. For dullstroom I had no problems as everything is on one day

sabie, but that is my point last year I managed fine, this year it is chaos.

@ OP, I don't want to start a thing here but I think the title of this thread is misleading and a bit unfair. What you are describing is a website-related annoyance and certainly not "online chaos".

 

Anyhow, hope you get the entries sorted mate!

Yeah the thread title is far from the truth, maybe a problem with his browser and not the website? Also managed to enter with no problems

sabie, but that is my point last year I managed fine, this year it is chaos.

 

I wouldn't call it chaos, just a bit of an inconvenience... Last year the event was not split as the MTN series on the saturday and Nissan series on the sunday, so it might have something to do with the sponsors of the events?

Hey Guys,

 

Thanks for your mails, queries, answers, frustrations and support etc.

It has been a testing time for ourselves too, we obviously aim to move up a gear each year and forward.

 

We have had to make a call end of last year with the online entries, we had a dilemma;

 

The current system although the front end worked basically flawlessly had a massive accounting flaw in the backend causing us to lose money throughout the year which couldn't get sorted out in time, this left us with two choices:

  • Stay with the current online entry system (eventry - which was actually build in house and we consequently started a separate company.) but with a flaw in it's accounting backend.
  • Temporarily move back to the previous online entry company and source this out again (although the front end is not what and how we would like it and the experience might be a step back at least the accounting backend is true and tested.

It was a no brainer, we had to make sure it makes business sense first.

 

You'll see that we have limited the events that are open thus far, aiming to get the online entry system sorted in the mean time and get back to offering a flawless online entry solution to our events.

 

There are obviously some teething problems with this temporary system again, ie. the iframe into our website has not been supported by IE at first and now currently all apple platforms using Safari. Safari has a build in security feature with cookies which is causing the problem, we were able to solve IE rather quickly.

 

There was also a limited problem that on the 7th Jan, people were charged for early and normal fees combined. (this has been resolved.)

 

Please try to take the 5min in entering for the moment, hopefully sooner than later we will be back up and running how you have experience us in the past.
