It was on between 8:15 and 8:30, did not catch all of it, but basically DALS go by the fact that there was no 3rd part involved, so the driver has no obligation to wait around. The driver claimed he was not insured, so they have no moral obligation to inform the insurance. The Tow truck driver denies removing the reg plate, as that would have been illegal to do.

Thanks for the info

What 90 inch said.......

It sucks knowing thats probably the end of it, but I still think you've done a hell of a lot more than most people would've done. I commend you on that and can only hope I would do the same if found in a similar situation.

Typical. Those tow truck guys are a bunch of cowards.

Hopefully with the info supplied the Vineyard owner will still take this further.

Thank you.....

I am also thinking that nothing much will happen, but maybe just maybe the driver will get a fright of his life. And not drink and drive again.

Maybe that tow-truck driver, and some others will think twice about just assisting a Drunk driver to leave the scene...

I dont think that the attitude off "no injuries, then we two" should apply...and it then emplies that only ONCE some is dead or hurt will the correct channels be followed.

Thanks to everyone here for your ideas and support.....

MY EXES BROTHER WIFES BROTHER(giving details to distance myself completely) was a tow truck driver,,,EISH THE STORIES I HEARD,,,,,,sorry to the very small % (if any) honest hard working tow truck divers out there, but they are a different breed if you listen to what they get up too,,,VERY SCARY

surely the property owner who's fence he damaged is a third party?

I gave all the details I have to the property owner, and informed him that apparently he needs to the police to lay a charge.....

I am hoping that the property owner "claims" from insurance and give his insurance company the drivers details.

The the insurance co,pany can sue the driver......

:-)

THE WAY I UNDERSTAND INSURANCE COMPANIES HAVE INVESTIGATORS TO GET OUT OF PAYING, I SAY TAKE THE TIME OUT GET THE REG FOLLOW UP, LIFE WILL NOT BE SO ROSY FOR MR DRINKING AND DRIVING ONCE THE RIGHT PEOPLE HAVE BEEN INFORMED ABOUT WHAT REALLY HAPPENED

We once had a young guy come in to casualties at National hospital in Bloem... turns out he was a tow truck driver.

It was a rainy evening and he was busy preparing for work (read: going soap on the road in the intersection infront of Ornaje hospital) when he got hit by a taxi... Instant Karma
