Just checked again. The TV Guide has been updated but says Tour of Flanders from 14h00 to 14h30 only. Then it's Heineken Cup highlights from 14h30. That can't be right.

Big day...

Whoohoo

A buddy of mine, HubSA member here in i-BMC, , just rolled one of the Flanders Sportives.

He's says the vibe is MAL there.

One day, one day..

He wants to organize a trippie next year for a bunch of us.

I'll definitely be there.

Time to roll some pavè and drink some beer at 09:30, although I don't drink...:-)

Me neither (generally speaking), but I do enjoy a Belgian Beer on occasion. Actually Belgium sure looks like a nice place to go an live, what with all those cycling lanes. And the opportunity to talk cycling and not bore people. I am sure I could get by with the bit of Die Taal that was uploaded to me back in the days of Christian National Education.

Ever heard of the Retro Ronde? It takes place in June every year and looks like a helluva jol. A real throwback to the 'good old days' of racing.

The theme is old bikes, those old woolen jerseys, and old mates.

I've just penciled in another item on my bucket list....

A young man who might not be a classics rider, and therefore someone we probably won't see on a Flanders start line, but nevertheless someone who has always had a deep appreciation for the roots of this sport...
