It's clearly a religious quote/question and not a blasphemy of any kind......bud.

not saying that HE was blaspheming, I am just noting that people use a lot of phrases to try get a point across, but it doesn't mean that they believe are "affiliated" to the source... sorry for calling you bud, didn't realise it was unkind..

No worries, over any of that.

Nowadays its pointless even going to complain at the company. They just give you all the hogwash, and claims that they will talk to the driver. But this almost never happens.

Why would they want to discipline an employee who has been with them for years and given them great service?

Social media is the way to go! Give them a bad rep, this in turn will negatively affect them and they will be forced to be alot stricter.

Look at that sa roadlink issue with the bus that went from cape town to Jo'burg and took twice as long. Cops claimed Sa roadlink are the worse. I never knew that. Social media would have made it known to everyone, much like this topic

I took a clip on my Gopro on tuesday of a local bus going high speed in the fast lane down the notorious Fields hill (KZN province)... he is going way over 100khp and pushing cars aside in the fast lane.My question is, if i post the clip in the public domain or in social media, can the bus company take legal action agaisnt me? Do i have to submit it to the Police or authorities?

I actually sent PPA a list (as per their request after a previous thread I posted) of the big Tour coach companies in Cape Town with numbers and contact ppl where I knew - suggesting to them that driver awareness may be key. Most companies do a form of inhouse training ( those that toot their horns behind you do not appreciate the finger as they are merely doing what has been dictated by international standards) I don't see why PPA couldn't approach them with a plan formulated to educated and enlighten the drivers as to what it is like as large bus comes past you and after he is past.

I would be interested to know what response PPA has had from these companies to date.

Also to note it is very easy to report an errant driver - bus has large company name and number emblazoned on the side and back - not so easy to report errant cyclists. Yes I know that an altercation with a bus will always be way worse for a cyclist but maybe if cyclists kept their end of the road rules bargain there would be less animosity towards the cycling population as a whole.

this incident reminds me about a ride we did a few weeks back. we were coming down Red Hill towards Simons Town. the bends are pretty tight. i normally descend infront of my friends ( im a little faster). i take the tight turn to my left and to my surprise there is a bus full of passengers struggling up. I immediately think of my friends behind me, they gonna get the bus on the bend. I stop and look back. the 1st guy comes thru. he went into the gutter to avoid the bus. the whole tail end of the bus was on the wrong side. my 2nd buddy is not so lucky. he is already in the gutter and the busses rear panel is scraping his leg. he bangs on the bus maintains his balance and survives. i tell u he saw his life flash infront of him. Im not sure if busses are allowed up red hill from Simons Town. Scary moment that was.
