Does anyone know where to find one?

I ride a steel Niner MCR9 and she hasn't been riding sweetly of late. The bike has recently been rebuilt but feels even worse now... I heard a rumour that there was a German bike mechanic (whisperer) in Kenilworth who specialises in steel bikes... anyone know said German? Or any other suggestions please!

Cheers,

Warren

I think you are thinking of Olaf (Spelling)

I also speak steel and would whisper sweet little dirty secrets into your bikes headset for a few weeks to get her back on track single track.....using a German accent does not help much I have found, though a raspy Barry White does wonders.

Let me know

Olaf sold up in Kenilworth - I think he's working for one of his original suppliers. He was a whisperer of note, but what can you do when another bigger bike shop sets up less than 100m away from you?

He works for Sram mow. Not sure if he does side jobs. Singlespeedguy owns that shop now. He is certainly just as good if not better. Give him a bell. He is on the hub.

that's the guy. he goes to practise his german on a monday but will be in the shop and on da hub tomorrow.

Sad that people find humour in anothers moment of need...

Peter Pan...

the op rides a ss and it should be mandatory to have a good sense of humour of on a ss.

The whisperer was identified and his replacement was also shown.

In between a bit of banter had come to the front. ....But mostly on keeping with the thread.

I was wondering how long it would take.

Not only 1, but 2 bike shops set up close by recently ... not to mention the already established bike shops not much further away in Lansdowne Rd.

I had a few encounters with Olaf and he seemed like a top bloke.
