Is this ride worth the drive from Cape Town? Has anyone driven there for it and back same day?

The mtb one of the better mass participation events around, but not that great that I would drive to Knysna and back in one day just for the mtb ride. Part of the appeal is that it's during the Oyster Festival. so make a weekend of it and go with friends/family

Also entered the 80km MTB and entered the 109km road race also, but will do it with the MTB, see a lot of guys did it last year with a MTB, so why not, the more the merrier ;)

Personally I would rather go and ride Harkerville or one of the other trails on Sunday than doing 100km of tar on my mtb...

Edit - To put it differently - if I'm allowed only 2 days a year in the mtb-heaven that is Knysna, as little as possible of my riding time would be spent on tar

True that, but I stay right next to Knysna, so I can do Harkerville any other day, I'm just doing the road to do something different and enjoy the whole race vibe and increase my yearly (once a year road cycling... the Cape Argus) to 2 road races a year :)
