DIPSLICK Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 How long does these virtual races you guys do normally take?depends on who ever sets them up it can be any duration 1 hour- what ever even shorter
bmw1za Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 I'm looking good for next week, everything seems to be working with everything activated ... that brake works a bit too well (just saying..legs burning).Question? with the multiplayer races, Is it a virtual 3d (animated graphics) or the top view 2d map thing?
DIPSLICK Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 no map on the right hand side on the left power/cadence/speed/heart rate graph, and then under that google snap shots of the location

We can race on multiplayer in the vr (graphics) playing fileds, or in catalyst, or in the gps rides, which what we use. You can also use multiplayer for RLV (videos) but then everyone Has to have bought and installed the Tacx vid.
Harryn Posted June 5, 2014 Author Posted June 5, 2014 Here is an interesting excerpt from the Tacx marketing shpiel on the i-vortex: Virtual speed - The electro brake does not have a downhill drive, such as the motor brake of the i-Genius, and it generates less power while riding uphill. When you are cycling in a virtual terrain or in a film you can get outside the range for which the brake is intended. In the second graph the working range of the i-Flow is shown. To allow cyclists with a motor brake and cyclists with an electro brake to ride races against each other in Multiplayer, Tacx has developed the virtual speed. This concept translatesthe energy supplied into a certain speed, which can guarantee a fair contest. If this speed differs from the speed at which the rear wheel is running, the virtual speed will be shown on the screen in red. So, time to fess up. What units are you Running??

I read about that .. but i'm more interested in the training and fun factor than actually winning(Thats not to say i wont try my damnest, lol) I'm on a flow with the PC Upgrade
Terminator Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Mines an old i-Magic which def doesn't have a motor to drive it on a downhill - no such thing as a freewheel or break on my idt! Not sure what diff it makes with their explanation tho with the Tacx virtual speed system?
DIPSLICK Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 I AM RUNNING THE BISHIDO NOW, I MUST DISAGREE, I GOT THE OOOOOLD FORTIUS WITH A MOTOR, i worked for ever km i got on both machines(except when i use the power drill) or am i missing the pot again

Maybe we missing the same pot
Terminator Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Me too. Admittedly the fact that there's other guys on the same work does push you a bit and add a little competitive dimension to the whole thing........ When someone's just ahead or just closing in on you it's a little easier to push that bit harder. Works for me anyway

bmw1za Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 OK 5 MIN PENALTY/HEAD START FOR US Get Racetec to do the seeding... higher seeding starts with a penalty (Rotflmao)
Terminator Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 OK 5 MIN PENALTY/HEAD START FOR US Hahaha nice try
DIPSLICK Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Get Racetec to do the seeding... higher seeding starts with a penalty (Rotflmao) IF JCZA WAS HERE HE WOULD HAVE ALREADY LODGED A COMPLAINT ABOUT HIS SEEDING :whistling:
