I did not enjoy this race, but it was more about me than the route and or the organisation. I felt flat and disinterested throughout, I had back spasms after 15km as luck would have I was riding next to the Doctor treating me at the time, fat use she was as she proceeded ride away from me, we will have a little chat about this! Then I tore my camelback on a thorn tree at 30km ( thanks to the rider that pointed it out to me) and my car keys and cellphone fell out I had to retrace my tracks to find them, luckily I did. My Garmin ran out of power at 35km and then when they gave us a second half with district roads with corrugations my sense of humour failed. I had a lot of fun chatting to the 40k riders near the end and I must say the run in with the different races was not an issue at all. I can't fault the organisation, it was superb and despite my issues it was still better than a day at the office!

Luckily the law of averages says you will have many hours of good riding now. Sometimes we need the bad days to make the good ones stand out. Bad Luck.

I was also interested in seeing how well the seeding worked i.e how many B's got into A's. My impression is it worked well.

Seeding process confuses me I started in E in Dullstroom and finished 67th Mankele finished 14th overall and I got a C seeding for this race
