How about a BH Lynx 6 Carbon?

I'm taking pre-orders

Manitou McLeod or

Cane Creek DBInline once it has been determined it can fit the Lynx frame

Barebones frame kits will also be on offer consisting of the frame, MRP LOOP TR or Stage fork, rear shock of choice, Cane Creek Headset & FUNN or RS Dropper post.

There will also be entry/mid level and pro level buildkits on offer not too long from now.

Bare in mind that it is 27.5".

I did bear that in mind. I saw the 27.5 marked on the tyre.

Anyway, after looking at the geometry, I will retract my head angle statement. At 67.5º it is actually quite steep for a 160mm travel bike, especially if you look at the similar travel and wheelsize Santa Cruz Nomad with a HA of 65º. The nomad also has a slightly longer wheelbase and shorter chainstays, which I see as desirable traits.

Frame is chosen - not ordered yet as i have to wait for stock ...

But just got the total price of the build .. GULP! ...

Looks like I will be poor again for next year!

So what is the magic carpet ride gonna be,the suspense is killing us.

As I get stuff I'll put it up here. Till then you will all have to guess. Hahahha

But its carbon and has a 65 deg headangle

If you had to pick between all of the160mm trail bikes with carbon frames and 650b wheels, what colour would your Nomad be? ;)

Ok so finally the build is about to begin.

Got some guys getting quotes for me on parts kits for the build.

XT Groupset but converted to 1x10 with a chainguide.

and then Hope hubs with some rims that im still deciding on ....

Then a 160mm Pike

The frame .... well thats for Christmas time! But I can say it WILL be carbon!

have a look at the spank range for rims

im busy trying get get hold of some oozy trail 295 beadbites

the reviews are really good

420 grams of bad jokes

why go xt when you can go ZEE (if you get the right spec (wide range) derailer it can take an 11-36 casette)

which means unless you want one of those 42 tooth overdrives a zee will do the trick

wouldnt ride spank rims - I have a set of oozys on my spare xc wheelset at the moment and they weigh a ton and are soft as hell!

I don't know about oozy's but my subrosa's have taken unbelievable amount of abuse. I haven't heard any issue's with spikes either. Maybe the oozy'z are just too light

I donno - but my spare ones are NOT light - built onto XT hubs with DT Swiss spokes - and they weigh a TON! ....

So although Spank bars are cool - I am not a fan of the rims

My subrosa's are heavy as well - like 580g per rim. But they're not really soft. I think it was a bit of a probelm in certain years when they tried a new alloy combination / built them a new and "innovative" way, but mine are certainly bomb-proof (at the moment)

Oozy's 26" are like 415g per rim. Ollie M raved about the 650B versions with Hope hubs after he did a few European enduros (EWS?) on them. The wife has some on her Pascoe and they are super light.

My wide Subrosas in 650B are around 545g by comparison but I like it that way. :D
