I love riding my 26" through the technical parts of the races. On the long and flat roads (and the sandy parts),I battle to keep up with the 29ers.

 

Yeah I know what you mean, on acceleration the 26er whipped me but I just kept pulling away on longer stretches with my big wheels :D

The one and only race I rate as the true equaliser.

This race has a bit of everything and even the guys who want technical only will have respect for that district road.

Anyone who comes in at under 8 hours on that event is tough as nails, anyone who finishes that event is a legend.

 

7h30 back in the day!!! Finally I can say the suffering was worth it..
