OKO Tyre Sealant feedback please?

Stupid question : is all OKO created equal? Us the stuff at Midas also Ok for mtb tyres? I'm thinking bigger beads or something in the vehicle tyre car thing?

The bottle I got from Midas is marketed for golf cart/ATV use, but that is probably because it's a little thicker and in a bulk sized bottle. Decant it into smaller bottles, water it down, put an "MTB" label on it, and it will sell in an LBS for twice the price.

Either way... it has worked great for me.

EDIT: I've even used OKO to seat tubeless tyres on ghetto converted rims.... with a floor pump

Just got a bottle 880ML for R130.00 and some brake pads for R69.00

Nice to have heaps of sealant on hand, you are free to change tyres willy nilly, and the stuff never dries up, I cannot understand Stans

Right, so I've contacted the supplier, and I'm shipping 2 boxes of OKO for MTB up to JHB. It comes in 250ml bottles. I'll let you know the final price for the stuff including shipping. Direct from the supplier the cost is R65+VAT+a small share of shipping per 250ml bottle. If you want some, let me know.

R65 + vat + shipping for 250ml direct from the supplier sounds like full retail to me, that's almost at Stan's pricing?

Unless you talk "shop style" (ie like you run a small concern/workshop/racing team) the suppliers often give you rip off pricing so they dont piss off the retailers they supply to.

Is OKO and Ryder both water based, I'm over Stan's it just disappears in a few months and it's damn expensive

That is expensive,

I got the 880ml from Cycle Lab for R130 on the closing down sale, OKO is water based and lasts almost the entire life of the tyre, seals well for me, it is just not a fluid as Stans, so you have to shake and bounce the wheel a bit more after the fist insulation, but once it is sealed it is fine.

I think the OKO at motor bike shops and car spares shops is the same thing and it come in 1litre and 5litre containers

I reckon marketing bollocks, a hole in any tyre is a hole to fill so a hole caused by an identical nail in my car/motorbike/mtb tyre will need the same technology and attributes to stop it up. It's a recognized phenomenon that putting the same product in better packaging and labeling it extreme etc can achieve a higher price for a manufacturer, just like bicycle specific anything is often 3-4 times the price of the identical product made for cars or motorcycles.

I'm in touch with Cape Agricultural Products... They are the only people listed on the OKO web page.

I'd love not to have to deal with shipping from Cape Town all the time, so if you have JHB contact details for me I'd be grateful....

I am tracking down my contacts now. Just do not buy the 20L like I did originally and decanted it to sell on the hub... I got into trouble but sold more OKO then their agent so was asked to sell it for them hahaha....

Awesome. Thanks. The guys in the cape were quite keen for me to create a market up here... Me, I just want some sealant, and was happy to do a group buy...

Did anyone find the agent, I would be happy to get a 25 Litre drum and sell it per litre, like bring your own container and pay per litre, I am sure the market is ripe for a high quality economic sealant
