The Salsa Team represented by Salsa Cycles cyclist, Jay Petervary - a 6-time Iditarod Race competitor and 4-time Tour Divide finisher (and current record holder for both) will be competing in the 2014 Munga with partner Kurt Refsnider – the Arizona Trail 300 and 750 record holder.

Surely Platt and co entering this race just makes it more pointless for at least 375 of the other teams to cough up R109,487 to enter this race? Lotto has a 1 in 13,362,313 chance of winning and it costs R3.50 to enter. 375 teams have less chance than that at an entry fee 30,000 higher.... I certainly don't need to pay an entry fee of US$10,000 to ride from Bloemfontein to Stellenbosch in 5 days. Do I?
carbon29er Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 For the experience of it? Each to their own. I know that I will be glued to the race if it is televised.So you prove the point, you will WATCH it on telly but not pay to enter. But if it cost, say, R10,000 a team with no prize money?
