Mental Mamba Posted June 10, 2014 Share not gonna get a 29" carbon bike in the range...just have a look under the classifieds and you'll see for yourself.
Fisan Posted June 10, 2014 Share Generally speaking I would say Merida and Titan offer some nice spec'ed bikes. Their downsides are usually the weight though. I went the Scott route (very nice Aluminium frames) but I see their prices went up 30% since 2012...
Matchstix Posted June 10, 2014 Share Best value for money is silverback Pieterg, Brogue, Lone_Ranger and 4 others

T-Bob Posted June 10, 2014 Share price rage would be between 12 and 18k new and 7-12k second hand. Why not 12-18 second hand? Then you're more likely to get the spec you want. Questions are: - What are you looking to do with it? XC, XC race, trail, all mountain, #enduro, stage race, downhill, everything? - Do you need a 29'r / 650b or would a 26'r do? - Where do you ride?- Soft tail or hard tail? Once you've nailed that down then you can start looking for the right bike... Captain Fastbastard Mayhem
VicanZA Posted June 10, 2014 Share EasyAll from the classifieds 1\Lynskey ridge line frame for 9k offer 6.2\ztr crests or AM used for about 5, they may even still have rubber on them.3\avid brakes R8004\xt,XX,XO groupie for 4k, saw an XT groupie go for 1,5k a few days ago. That's 16k, transfer saddle and cockpit from current ride, will be the best bike u ever own. Ironfist Posted June 11, 2014 Share I also need some advice please.I'm new to the sport. What do you guys think about the specs of the Silverback Sola 4. I can buy a fairly new bike for R5500-00, 3 months old. Is the bike suitable for trials and I also want to ride next year's Argus. Thanks
in10sive Posted June 11, 2014 Share Got myself the Silverback Slider for just over 20k, great components - have done 300km so-far and loving the 27.5/650B: http://www.thehubsa....-1-650b-review/ Edited June 11, 2014 by in10sive
