Heard people gushing about the trailer to the latest Star Wars movie. Must say, I was kinda underwhelmed.

The New Star Wars lego is already out

Which means my kids will want them... as the Star Wars Lego is by far the coolest

In 2000, I got my first Star Wars Lego set. My wife at the time brought me back a Mindstorms R2-D2 from Scotland. Was very chuffed.

Got a great book at The Art of The Brick last weekend called "Lego: A Love Story", written by a guy who reignites his love for Lego as an adult. He writes that many adults got back into building because of the Star Wars sets.

I got stuck helping my youngest with one of his Lego sets over xmas.. When it was finished we had this great sense of achievement.  I actually rather enjoyed it, and I didn't help too much, only when he got stuck.

That's how it starts...you help a little, but it's not enough. Let me just add one brick, you say. Okay, maybe just one more…

Be careful…

:whistling:

Hahahahaha!

Take the kids to the Lego exhibition. I managed to spend a fortune in the gift shop. And that was almost without buying one single brick! T-shirts, mugs, fridge magnets, posters, books, iPhone cover (Idon't own an iPhone)…

Ah, we meant to watch that yesterday, but got caught up riding around. Made a date for Wednesday.

Loved it. Absolutely loved it. So glad I trumped up the extra cash to see it in 3 as well.

Watched Avengers: AOU, but was left a tad underwhelmed.

Don't get me wrong, I love the MCU, but I felt that Ultron wasn't as threatening as he could've been. Also, fighting hordes of robots was too similar to the final battle of the first installment where they fought off hordes of aliens. I think it is worth a re-watch - there is a lot going on in the movie.

There is a lot of geek porn in this film. Those who know the source material will know what I'm talking about.

  • 2 weeks later...

So I watched this over the weekend. Must be the most refreshing realization to this sort of concept I've seen in a while. Despite being riddled with scientific inaccuracies and paradoxes I think it was absolutely brilliant. Great storytelling
