terrible must have been one of my worst, discovered on Friday evening that my cassette is worn, I could sit & peddle but couldn't power in any of my gears as a result I Missed the bunch just as Lourens Luus & Arno attacked probably in the first 5kms i.e. the first tiny sandy section. Then to make matters worse I punctured luckily I just had to bomb it, just in time to latch onto the 3rd chasing bunch. Finished about 10-20mins behind the winner.

Will hopefully be back again next year with my rigid fork again.

How was your race?

Actually not bad! Just could not hook onto that fast bunch and had to make do with another group where only a handful wanted to do anything. Managed a 2h57 but missed out of the top 20, which was the goal, by 3 places.

Sorry to hear about your misfortunes!

Me in bottom pic! You rode strong in last 25km. Had to attack on that last climb but ran out of steam/gears on the downhill. Will use bigger front blade next year

Good ride Milky!!

I really enjoyed the race, it was very "dirt roadie" but they can be really fun and a bit different to do occasionally. The pace was super fast I had an average of just under 30km/h for the 80km. The scenery was spectacular and I really want to make a weekend trip to ride in the area again.

I finished 7th overall and 3rd in Sub Vets after a very exciting race with Martin Zietsman up the last few climbs.

thanks, i was happy to take it down to a bunch sprint but you decided to attack so there was no way I could help you after that, heehee I just hung you out to dry.

I had a 36T up front but my 11 & 13 cogs at the back kept slipping hence I couldn't really ride any faster or harder. I really enjoyed attacking on the climbs in that last half & in the process getting rid of all those bunch sitters, we did well.
