2015 S Works Epic

There is nothing personal, I'm asking a simple question, because you seem to feel really strongly about this.

Then I don't understand your question.

If we discussed a Cannondale or Santa Cruz or any other brand for that matter, the fact remains that R 130 k for something that's worth R 70 k in a years time is nota good return for me.

So I still think you have a hidden agenda.

And again I ask you, what has that got to do with this discussion ?

For the last time, pm. me if you want to know anything.

Me too.

I love the way some of these guys on here act all innocent when they actually have a hidden agenda.

Trolling at it's most subtle.

That fact that you refuse to say goes to show that you are the only one with a hidden agenda here.

Bike retailers have a vested interest in how this thread goes. Good or bad, for or against.

Nothing trolling about that. It's called being transparent. I don't sell bikes so if I say "Spez is ***" it's an opinion, not a statement that could affect my business. I was asking if you sell Spez or not to determine where you stand on the above.

I really do not know, but whether you sell it or not makes a bit of a difference as to the motivation of the posts. Nothing more nothing less.

Pot or post ?

I did read every single post.

My comment about the cars was not a personal attack on you, that is why I never quoted you, it was you who took it personal by the look of things.

I never mentioned Santa Cruz or Giant, so no idea why you are dragging me in to that.

I am taking it easy .

Comparing cars with bikes is absurd, it annoys me when people do that ,it's an unfair comparison.

As for you wanting to read about the new S-Works, accept the fact that a debate will get sparked and that there will be criticism.

As I said, and I am not being facetious, I can't even remember how many S-Works level bikes I have had, I will never buy another one either, the return on investment becomes brainless, for me that is.

I think the only people who need to relax a bit are those who take every little criticism about their favourite brand and see it as "hate"

"Pot calling the kettle black"

Yes it is personal. It got personal when you told me to get some manners and debate like an adult. Until that stage, it was healthy debate.

You still miss my point about brand loyalty. I drive a defender, a friend drives a land cruiser. Similarly capable cars, but it comes down to the brand and personal preference. So whether you like the comparison about car brands (as opposed to the cars themselves) or not, it served the purpose of my illustration. If you prefer I can use the example of tennis rackets, or brands of tv's. Apple v Microsoft... whatever - same point.

My posts were directed at anyone who felt it necessary to come to the s-works thread and complain about the brand rather than discuss the new bike.

By the way, in financial terms there is absolutely no return on investment on any bike. If you mean the joy that a person derives from a particular bike, then the "return on investment" is particular to each persons circumstances and the value they see in a bike.

I am happy to let this go if you are. I may not always agree with your opinion, but I do value that it is an informed one.

Do you wear underpants or a leather thong.

You know the answer to your question, the fact that you are too scared to pm. me shows that you have a hidden agenda.

Secondly, I have expressed absolutely no negativity to any brand in this thread, merely price and value.

If you had manners you would have been less condescending about a post that was not directed at you.

Not sure I agree I have just bought a 2014 Camber Carbon a good friend has done both Trans Alps and Four Peaks on a Camber and I also own a Anthem 2013 X1.The Camber is responsive climbs well and is light I am sure the Epic is a great bike but I am not sure its worth the extra 20 -30 grand premium

Camber is a great bike for sure. They are very similar in price to the epic, when comparing the same spec levels. Biggest difference is the brain suspension. Now, deciding if you like the brain or not, thats a whole different story.

Wow, so it's not personal for you then I guess. Or are you just trolling?

I used a car example, you threw your panties in the air about people using car examples. I responded that people should leave this thread to those that want to read about the bike. You tell me to get manners because you don't like my statement.

Don't be such a hypocrite cowboy.

You know a lot about bikes, you seem to know very little about healthy debate.

I'm going to go ride my a Epic on the spruit now. You can continue with your childish behaviour and superior attitude on a MTB thread.
