Chamois Cream

I am currently using mark II cream, and it has been working fine, especially at the price. I am doing a 24h race soon and I am wondering if the assos cream will make such a big difference? I have heard from a few people that the only difference in cammy cream is the price, how accurate is that statement? Bearing in mind that the assos cream is **** expensive!

Sorry, but.

Cream is just cream.

I used plain cheap cream.

No problems.

When I have saddle sores I treat them with a bath in course sea salt an then bactroban. I use baby bum cream and works very well. I will also try the teat salf! I used to use Mark II and then once tried baby bum cream after mot being able to find proper Chamois cream. I havent used anything else evesrince. I find that one of my shorts are causing saddle sores. So maybe its about the chamois in the shorts too and not only the saddle?

With the extreme mileage you do there must be truth in what you are saying.

What do you think will happen, when you shock your system.

Not everyone increases their distance slowly over time.

Not everyone trains for 6/8 hours a day, 2/3 days a week.

As with training and fitness you need to monitor your progress.

You cant go to THE NEXT LEVEL IF YOU DID NOT PASS THE ONE BEFORE.

Madjajdi milking cream - contains an anti bacterial ingredient so winner winner chicken dinner. Only ever need it for rides longer than 4 hours.

During long multi day events like epic then I used some tea tree oil after a shower and some Fissan paste (not cream) at night. Never had a saddle sore... not worth the risk...

Did not read the whole thread, so I don't know if it has been covered.

I think prevention is better than cure.  Get out of your riding pants as soon as you finished riding (bacteria breeds very fast in a wet chamois) and take a shower and wash well.  Then apply a anti bacterial cream on the affected area.

As Rudi-h has indicated, Zambuk is very good, it's all i use.

Obviously, wear a clean cycling short everyday
