Bad accident at Northern Farm this morning? Head on collision . . .

In case anyone knows - just wondering how the guy that had the head on collision at NF this morning was?

He was on the ground looking pretty stunned when my GF went past him, but he was with other people so she didn't want to stop and get in the way. Apparently they were calling for an ambulance.

As far as I know there are only really three safety related rules at NF. All clearly signposted:

1) No Helmet No ride - people manage that one OK.

2) One way through the singletrack - I guess that one is a "quick learn" if you don't know it.

3) Keep left on two way tracks (jeep tracks and access roads). Again, a quick learn once a few people have shouted a you that you're on the wrong side of the track . . .

Saw someone being loaded into an ambulance this morning. There was a kombi ambulance and two ambulance cars all together but I only saw one person being loaded. Hope he's ok.

Seemed to have been riding on the fields between the main (top) farm road and the N14. Don't often see people over there since they took it out of the route after the hi-jackings.

Wow that's heavy. Hope the chap is okay. I ride there quite a bit and I must agree that the warnings are well posted where need be. However... yesterday due to the mud people were skipping sections by cutting through the veld onto other parts of the trail. Our group came across a bloke heading the wrong way on some of that twisty single track...

There is generally an ambulance sitting in the car park nowadays, so response is quick.

Not sure how muddy it will get in rainy season after all the grading and ditch digging they've done.

Mud is ok though. Snakes on the other hand . . . .

On twitter they're saying it was a horse accident.

Good to keep all the emergency numbers for all the trails you ride on your phone, you never know - if not for yourself you may come across someone that needs help.

I think he means he came short whilst riding slowly, fell into a cow pat, and the group he was with at the time laughed at his predicament and left him there . . .

It's happened to us all.
