After supporting Eagle Canyon Cycles from the start, I was shocked to walk in there on Friday to be greeted with a nearly empty shop and a youngster who looked very much like a Cajee Cycles employee.

Sad to see the only known face was the mechanic, Josh. Who like always did his best to help with very limited resources.

Apparently it was sold to new owners 3 weeks ago.

Sorry but i will not be back.

It was my LBS, so much so that I would drive to Spez and buy the parts they needed for them to put on. I really liked how Jacques was ALWAYS helpful, Sheldon also tries. The new owners are the same guys who own the shop there by Tony's Spaghetti on Beyers. I went into that shop ONCE, filled the counter with things I wanted to buy only to walk out after waiting 5mins at the till for somebody to ring it up. I went to collect my bikes at EC Cycles 2 weeks back and saw the state of the place, Jacques was already gone and Sheldon filled me in on what happened and introduced me to the "new owner" (read owners leitjie) I asked him what stock they were getting in as the floor was EMPTY, he couldn't answer me, didn't seem to know what a Cannondale was either... Good luck to Jacque and whatever it is he doing. I will also not be back.

This sucks. I was looking for a new LBS in that area..

Depending on which side of that area you are on, I have heard many many good things about West Rand Cycles... I am on the Eagle Canyon side, so too much of a drive for me, so guess its Concept at Fourways for me...

I will rather drive to Linden Cycles in future.

I am not that happy with their service TBH. I bought my bike there, but I found out that the rear derailleur cable wasn't put in properly and has since started fraying all the way to the shifter, further, the BB installed by them necessitated having new thread cut by another bike shop to be able to fit a new BB.. So was looking for someone to install new cable and set gears - seems its gonna be google.

The guys at Northcliff cycles are rad. The shop is pretty well stocked too.

I haven't been there as its pretty far from home but I did send them an email on Saturday morning asking about some 26 in tyres, they replied pretty quickly on the email and actually phoned me (but I was already out riding)! Its pretty rare for a bike shop to return your call let alone just phone you about tyres when you just sent an email.

West Rand cycles is good, otherwise Bruce Reyneke Cycles on HP is good as well...

Wow had the exact same experience two weeks ago, needed a 26" Tubeless MTB tyre. They had one is stock just one and not the one I wanted:-( One young disinterested young guy working there on a Saturday and three waiting customers also doesnt work.

Been in there and had great service. It's not a cajees employee. The owner also has that small store near the old cescos on beyers. Stock was on the way. His pricey are pretty damn good and he says he beats any price.

C4 cycles.

Chaunce is his name. Lekker guy.

Father is Conrad, whom I've bought a lot of stuff from. Super helpful and well connected, if he doesnt have it he will organize it pronto
