Canadian visitor in Randburg hoping for a drive to Groenkloof?

Hi everyone,

I'm visiting from Canada for a couple of months, I just rode at Groenkloof nature reserve today and would love to go back. I don't have a car, so i would be happy to pay for your petrol, park entrance, and - if you have time - a drink or coffee or lunch/dinner after the ride. I'm new to mountain biking so i'm fine with riding by myself once we get there and meeting you back at the car when you're done.

I'm available pretty much anytime to go. Also, about me, I'm a 31 year old male medical student, i'm here doing some research and teaching first aid before heading back home to start residency (housemanship).

Thanks for reading,

cheers

I haven't been to Groenies for a while but have been considering it recently. I'll gladly give you a lift from Randburg.

PM me your number.

You will not get a better offer. Go for it. Maybe I can join you one day and show you some of the new sections.

Are bicycles allowed on the Gautrain? If so, maybe a consideration......

I checked a while back and u can take a bike but it has to be packed away in a bike bag so it's no re of a mission than anything else

Yes if packed or bagged but bicycles are not allowed on the buses so you would have to cycle to Sandton station, not very safe.

Welcome to Joburg. You should also try Modderfontein, Thaba, Rietspruit, etc. All of them closer than Groenies, and also hell of a lot easier to get to traffic wise from Randburg. There is also Northern Farms, Cycle Park, etc

I will likely be riding Northern Farm or Heia Safari some time over the weekend. If you are keen, I am sure I can arrange transport. I am in Fourways. Just pm, text or email
