So theres a nice little clause with regards to dopers riding epic

"The ban applies to riders who have been sanctioned for an offence taking place after January 1, 2013."

This means that technically someone like David George could ride epic next year.

IF that is the case then the following statement of his rings very hollow :

“I don’t care whether a rider has been banned for three months or three years, if you cheat then we don’t have time for you - even if you are not earning a living from cycling, as is the case with these riders,” said Cape Epic founder Kevin Vermaak. “This is a new era in cycling, things are changing and I don’t want to entertain anybody who still feels the need to dope.”

I will be very interested to see how this pans out

Judging by the rule  I cannot see how they can prevent him from riding if he got an entry, whether they will give him one and who his partner will be......

Another question all together is whether he will have the guts to pitch, he will obviously open himself up for chirps.

If it were up to me - no Nolan, no Owen, no David...no dopers at all.Kevin is the big shot - no reason he can't refuse to give out tainted entries.

DG can also take over an entry from someone already entred.

When they apply to have the entry changed then say no.

If he doesn't officially change and rides "pirate" then DQ him.

Dopers have it too easy. Owen made a career out of the very sport he shat on. That aint right.

Ja, but aren't the number of elite teams at the Epic limited and invited/determined by the organisers?

No idea but you are probably right.

Agreed! Don't employ a convicted fraudster as your accountant, don't employ a convicted drunk driver as your driver etc.

Sport fraud in general is lightly punished. I think its because the victims as kinda unclear. All you steal as a doper is "potential careers"...
