You will have to provide more detail. Even our competent resident hub doctors won't be able to give a prognosis with the sketchy details provided. For example; how old are you? When did the pain start? Is the pain constant? More importantly though; what did the specialists that observed you in hospital had to say?

Sorry. 31yrs had sinus surgery 3 weeks ago. Got sudden sharp pain in arm to fingers. Left side chest started to tighten. Went to gp she did ECG, gp called hospital. Nurses did ECG blood pressure and sugar. This was around 5/6 pm. Sat and waited till 8pm, I had to ask nurses when doc is coming. They called him, nurse said to prep for surgery! I was shocked to hear this without tests been done!

Was given voltaren injection, sleep tablet and pain pills. They then put me on oxygen overnight. Around 8am woke up doc was telling nurse not pneumothorax and I must get x ray to be sure. Went for X-ray at 12. Nurse came at 2pm said doc is busy and he can't come. Nothing on X-ray so they discharged me.

Hope that helps..

Simple answer:

Stay off the bike and away from training untill you have a definitive diagnosis or has been formally cleared.

Just 'cause its not pneumothorax doesn't mean you should just jump back on the bike.

If it was bad enough to go to the doc, its bad enough to ensure you are 100% before you start up again.

Could be any one of a lot of things - call a cardiologist sharpish is my recommendation. If your chest pain returns before you see one, go straight to an ER. And stay off exercise till you are cleared to by a competent professional.

So I went to see a cardio surgeon... All clear for heart and lungs. Seems that I've got a nerve spasm in my neck! Doing some physiotherapy which is helping.

Thanks for input.

Glad you are ok.

Also had some very bad service at medi clinic. Then went to netcare and found the nurses could not even take my daughters temperature. Shocking
