chaos_za Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Opinions please! Looks like the new Trance seems to be the favourite?
Mada3400 Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 hang on, by gravity you mean do it all fun bike, like a trance or pretty much any mid travel soft tail? just wondering, cause if you want a dh bike for 20ish k youve got your pick of the second market's finest! but if you want a new trail bike, your choices are somwhat smaller
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 yeah - as Mada says gravity denotes Downhill / Freeride bikes, not All Mountain / Trail bikes, which is what the Trance is. If you're looking for a do-it-all machine, then the Trance 2 is without a doubt the best option at this point in time, and if you're lucky you should be able to pick up a late 2014 model for around the 20k mark. Stretch to 23 / 25k and you can get a new Trance 2 (depending on where you get it from) Below that, you have the Silverback Slider with very good value for money, as well as the Giant Stance. You really can't go wrong if you're looking for one of those bikes. But for "Gravity" bikes - which are bikes with more than 170mm travel front and back - you have oodles of choice in the 2nd hand market, 'cos there's no way you will get a Gravity bike for less than 30k, new.
chaos_za Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 Cool, thanks for the feedback - I have a DH bike, which i am looking to sell to help fund the 'do it all' bike as the DH rig doesnt get used enough... And I think i meant a 'do it all' bike as the 170mm travel bikes are a little bit out of my budget hehe!

They're older models but brand new, good value and the warranty is valid from date of purchase as far as I know: http://dialdbikes.co.za/end-of-range-sale/
