are you allowed to advertise a job open only to females? Is that not discrimination? What if someone advertised a job open only to males - imagine to uproar?

just saying.

Actually, you are right.

Even when going through an employment agency, you cannot specify gender.

It is illegal and discriminatory.

You are however allowed to disregard any applicants that do not fit your private criteria.

But you cannot publicly declare a specific gender.

ok then make the criteria this,

if you lock your hands behind your head with your elbows in front of your face, now stand against a wall, if your elbows touches the wall first you are disqualified......

Would be easier and "politically correct" to advertise for a sales "person" and then just chuck the male applicants - then you've followed the correct admin procedure.

End result is exactly the same, though. I'd rather have people / companies / businesses open and honest than playing games.

If you advertise and stick to BEE guidelines you discriminate anyway. Only in such a way that suits the law makers.

Very true.

I miss the "right person for the job" mentallity.

Now its all about having the right colour person for the job.

Sad.

Sorry for hijack.
