Gloves for commuting

Went shopping for gloves this weekend and thought that a nice day-glow colour for the gloves will also help when giving hand signals in the traffic. In 3 cycle shops could not find anything but a little red or blue but mostly the gloves are black with grey and whitetops.

Do you get such items or is it a fashion thing with the colour range changing every year.

you are glamorising commuting ... expect the gloves to get dirty and to take lots of abuse ... leave day glow the the guys wearing lycra to the aerobics classes

also take a look at the motor cycle shops and see the Moto cross gloves .... very well priced and tough vs MTB std gloves.

What Mr H said (apart from the grammar of course ^_^  ), forget about how bright they are, comfort is everything.

Summer MX gloves are the way to go. Also they offer much better protection than MTB gloves when you drop it.

And you will.......It's just a matter of time........

Hi Aluman

I understand the importance of commuting and hear where you're coming from. Great idea.

The brightest we sell are these:

RRP R260

NOW R180

The silver lining on the top of the yellow is highly reflective as well.

You can get them here:

Check the highly reflective strips on these same pair (just in black):

Hope this helps ;)

I use bright yellow Defeet Wooly gloves which are ridiculously visible at day and night.

They keep my hands warm too in those early commutes to work. However its true what Hairy says.

They get dirty quick and I don't see them lasting a full year, plus I doubt they would offer much protection in a wipe. MX gloves are a winner!

Check out these bad boys

I'm done with buying "nice" mtb gloves. They just get hammered by my commuting. These motocross things look like the answer.

MTB gloves are damn expensive. Reckon I'm also going to look at the MX gloves.

Yip. In terms of grip, my hirzl grippp gloves are fantastic. But at that price, and then they hardly last a season of commuting....
