Seems everybody is to scared to comment? I however with children believe it should be the parents responsibility to make sure they are safe and at the same time out of way of other or anything that could harm them, like playing on a track like this. The park should also take a more stern attitude towards unattended children.

This has been mentioned a few times, on here in other threads as well as directly to the staff/management at the cycle park.

Barring a response about putting up some clearer signage they don't seem to be doing much. Every time I've been there recently there have been a fair number of pretty small kids walking across the jumps like you've described, riding the wrong way etc. I even spotted a kid on a push bike..

The rules of the park seem pretty clear, unless they've changed dramatically and recently it just seems to be a case of the park staff/management not being willing to enforce them..

Thanks for the information. We have started placing staff as track marshals onthe BMX track over busy times to limit this exact thing from happening and to

prevent riders and kids getting injured or worse.

We will start placing the track marshals earlier over weekends.

We are in the process of a major signage upgrade as part of the next phase of upgrades.

I put the blame fully on the parents!

I have taught my kids about staying off the lines on a track, and it is all parents responsibility to do the same.

The kids don't all have the common sense to know what are danger areas and which are safe.

Plus you have to deal with the $h!tty feeling of hurting some poor kid because their idiot parents are ... well, idiots!

Glad CycleLab is doing something about it,  as it is just a matter of time...

I was so excited to go and try them out.

"We'll just do a couple of the trails to get warmed up" turned into an afternoon at Sunninghill Emergency.

Now it's at least 6 weeks before I can go back.

Meh!

What did you do now?

AC separation. 2 more weeks in sling, and probably another 4-6 off bike.

You know that raised bridge and drop-off behind the bmx start (black trail next to main road)...front tire rolled off rim at the bottom.

Show me a little kid that pays attention to signage?

All that will do is vindicate the adult after he has squashed some little whippersnapper on a landing

We know that signage alone doesn't solve the problem.

Constant education of riding safety and etiquette as well as

proactively monitoring the tracks is just some of the possible solutions

to ensure the safety of all our visitors.
