Gitfo Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Hi there guys. i was wondering if anyone has some advice for me on getting my brake levers replaced with shorter levers. Basically when i grip the handel bars i just leave one finger on the lever. At the moment the levers are the full length. Based in pta if you could advice on a cycle shop that could help which is not only concernd with there "high end" clients. Or a DIY kit i can Purchase. I have hydraulic brakes brand is " tektro auriga comp brakes " on my Mongoose tyax Super.

Pretty sure the levers aren't replacable. No they're not. The only thing that's adjustable is the reach (not the problem here) and the position of the master cylinder (you can rotate it)
Gitfo Posted October 2, 2014 Author Posted October 2, 2014 Yeah the levers are way longer then in the video and my handel bar has that bend in it so i cant move it much inwards. the setup on the controls i have done and i am very confortable as it is but was hoping to just remove the lever and attached like a short stub nose lever. But i will move things around a bit and try the swap around the gears and lever. Thanks.

Companies like Straitline make aftermarket levers, but they come at price, and not availalable for all brake models. So not worth it. cheaper than replacement levers would be the option of wider bars. Not only will these give you the space to set your levers more inward, but will also improve control and stability on the technical stuff. That would be nmy suggestion if the shifter-shuffling doesn't work
