Help fixing crank thread

Looking for someone or a place that can tap the threads for me.

I got these cranks mahala with a frame I bought. Originally planned to put a Zee crankset on as they on my nukeproof and love them..

But thinking of just fixing these for the interim.

I know what I need to do but it's pricey to get the required tools(rather spend it on a zee crankset), and having no luck with thin nose pliers.

Have you tried using an awl or small flat screwdriver to try lever the damaged threads into place or just clear the threads out, if you run an awl slowly and with some force from the good threads to the bad it may clear things enough

Get a small grinding bit on your drill or use a Dremel and just remove that part of the thread that is damaged.

I think this is step 2 if you have a dremel and the correct bit, very carefully though. Engineering shop shouldn't be to expensive to do that work, R100-R200 should do it, very minor in the big scheme of things in terms of the work they normally do.

Methinks that component will be hardened somehow, not gonna budge it with a hand tool.

Shocking that you didn't just drop it off by me, in fact I take offense MR POTGIETER

Hahaha who is this MR POTGIETER?

But I take offence too!

Will pop you a PM.

And yes these threads are tough! They definitely not budging with my weakling hands.
