Astana turn my stomach. Long time since I felt like that about a team. Really look like Postal don't they.

Not coming up for astana at all.. as I have serious doubts about them being clean.... but we should keep in mind that while tinkoff are doing the work for most of the stage. . They just sit there and get pulled along till they need to move to the front.

That is my best attempt at being open minded about astana.. also I don't want another damn scandal.

The problem is we all had the same view with LA. He supposedly passed every single test so of course he was clean, right?

That aside, we've now been shown proof recently that you can continue to micro-dose EPO and not only will the tests not pick it up, but the biological passport will not pick it up either.

I also held the view that the 'new' peloton was essentially clean until I read Christophe Basson's 2014 autobiography. He now works for the French anti doping agency, so has first-hand experience with the new drugs in professional sports. We are way beyond EPO now.

After reading that, and looking at how the whole team has been riding so far, do you still think a team like Astana is racing clean? Like I say, if they all keep up this style of riding for a full 3 weeks, I'll be 100% convinced something stinks in the land of the Kazakh's.

Yeah, I hear your point, but at the moment "it is what it is", and it doesn't really matter what we think, what matters is what can be proved, and so far, theres nothing.

Its much like your LA example, No one could prove anything (at the time) so he was considered clean, and as much as anyone thought otherwise, his wins stood and most likely his fan base even grew. Everyone likes to see something unusual.!

Of course all this changed later,... but likewise, right now, in the absence of anything to the contrary, we really just have to accept Astana are clean, and unless something changes, their wins and jerseys will stand, wither we like it or not.

I can't turn away from the spectacle of racing and question the performance of some riders and team,

All the enjoyment and thrill will drain away.

I'll leave the scrutiny and interrogation to the UCI police rather.

Let them do their job.

I'll do my job as a fan and stay in awe and excitement of the races.

Richie Porte (Team Sky) suffered another disappointing day at the Giro d’Italia, finishing almost 28 minutes down on stage winner Mikel Landa to raise further questions surrounding the Australian’s participation in the race.

Really appreciating the young Aru as he learns from the master Contador.

He will take a lot from this Giro.

So many more years to come.

Hope he has the legs to stay in the top 3 until Milan.

The 3 rd week of a Grand a Tour must be hell.

Tired minds, tired bodies.

... On one of yesterday’s roads, the scent of manure was quite strong, and I thought, “The trucks that brought that manure to the farm had to drive on this road … maybe now is a good time to close my mouth.” Which brings me back to my original point: It’s easy to understand why some guys start to feel under the weather after a string of rainy days. Our tires are a delivery service of myriad substances that we really shouldn’t be ingesting, especially in our fatigued state with vulnerable immune systems...

I enjoyed that read, thx.

It's very easy being critical sitting nice and comfy on the couch.. we have no clue what they go through.

Alaphilippe perhaps.

He can climb, he can TT, he's got the engine for the really long/hard 250+km classics races, he's the same weight as AC at 62 kg (lighter than Froome).

And he's only 22.

I've grown fond of that kid, bright future indeed.

While the PROs roll their bikes to keep the engines warm and chill, let's look at tomorrow's work - it promises to be another intense day.

Warm up those pistons before km 1.
