If you know where hoogekraal is (at crossing of contermanskloof road/ malanshoogte and Visserhok rd), that is all you need to know - the route is marked; so just ride and getting closer to the top of the climb, you will see the trail fork to left...http://www.tygerbergmtb.co.za/trails.html

Oh hell, not a clue (I'm a member)...

 

I would assume as you leave the car park for the trail, there is a notice board and fence, probably somewhere there.

My wife mentioned an arrow on a  rock - I didnt even see it. Its slightly tricky there - helps to go left and ride on the rock initially and then into the stony section.
