It was a smart tactical move by Stybar, the sprinters were looking at each other to close the gap, if anyone had closed they gap they wouldn't have been able to win the sprint.. (besides Cav who would have had a free ride).

Plus I like Stybar so good for him I say, and even better as his teeth stayed in his mouth.

I understand why sagan didn't close the gap, confused as to why Katusha didn't yhey had riders there for Kristoff, perhaps the legs weren't there.

Ja, I think those big guys used up a few more of their matches to get to the top of the climb in the front of the bunch than they had realised and they knew that if they went hunting Stybar they would lose to the guy who would have been on their wheel.

Does anyone know if it has happened before that twice in the first week the present leader of the yellow had to retire?

Forget the curse of the Rainbow Jersey, this Yellow curse is far more painful

Speaking of the rainbow jersey, how brilliant has kwaitkowski been for his team.. He gets my domestique award for the week.[emoji106] [emoji109]

No, your post said the other riders basically let "some noob rolling over the line for the win" (your words). Now that it's clear you weren’t joking, two things: (1) you don't know who Stybar is and (2) you and I must have been watching two very different races. Because what I saw was one of the most powerful and decorated classics riders (where there are just a handful of the worlds best out there who can hope to stay on his wheel when he decides to go) attack Sagan co. with 800m to go and literally rode them all off his wheel. Watch the footage again - when he went they all tried to go with him, including Sagan, and he just dropped them. Only when the gap got past 50 - 80m and they all realised that he was gone, did they start looking around at each other for 2nd place. That was a devastating attack and the win was 100% fully deserved. He klapped the others, they didn't 'let' him go. How about giving the world champ the respect and recognition he deserves for this win.

Im not going to argue with you, it seems to be what you want and although its Friday Im in too good a mood to play along.

Your assumptions about me are wrong though, I know the riders.

Spot on that. Whoever went after Stybar would've just been a leadout man.

Stybar picked his moment well. Obviously had the fresher legs and when he went everyone thought it was too soon but the gap he made so quick was just phenomenal.
