My girlfriend rides, I love it, doing races together is nice. Major disadvantage for me, I always have to fix everything on her bike. Tired of it.

i can so relate to this ha ha ha ha

Mine doesn't ride, and I am glad. She will however come watch when she can.

She's the one normally looking around asking, 'Where is he? Why is he so slow?'

I totally am ....

But on a side note - Looks like we are going to have about 7 or 8 girls racing DH here in KZN this coming year ... (including you of course ... even though you are a Vaalie :whistling: ) .... See if some of the other Jhb ladies are keen to come and race

I've been told I ride like a girl. Shall I come down and make up the numbers?

My madam rides. She rides flippen well too. I often get to the end of a section and expect to wait a bit only to have her cruise up a couple seconds later.

I currently get nervous leading her into new jumps etc. although she is very capable of all the stuff she is trying. I just don't want to break her (again) like that time I organized a dirt bike for her to try

It also has it's advantages.

My wife rides and uses the same frame size too, so I "technically" have a dual sus and a hardtail at my disposal.

Your wife must really like you, no way I'd share my bike.

Mil ...Your missus would give 90% of the okes on here a run for their money as soon as the trail turns downhill ... Also if she is jumping that double on Cascades like she is already (the one where we put the pallet in that Dave broke) - you need to lead her in to Haibo ... and even Dr Evil maybe - as the gaps are the same

Ha ha, thanks Nige. She had a brilliant couple of days in France on the last trip. She managed to do a couple gaps sans safety which (I think) will go a long way for her own progression.

I did get real nervous leading her into the Chatel River Gap and I fully expected her to bail out on the run in but heard a whoop after the landing.

I think once we get riding DH regularly again, the two road gaps on Cascades will be on the cards. I think Jugs would be a more feasible option than Dr Evil...

Hmmm I donno - I think Jugs is more intimidating with that high booter lip than Dr Evil.

That being said - you actually need to squash Jugs compared to Dr Evil where you have to huck it ...

Might be better to start on Jugs - and i think the landing is more case friendly and "soft"

My wife rides, but we have given up riding together coz I moan to much and she would end up telling me where to go...apparently c'mon babe c'mon don't stop nearly at the top,and dig in ,and if it's not hurtin it's not workin, is not the encouragement she needs:-) So we take turns in looking after the kids. She is doing her first race on 1st nov.... Kudos to her :-))

Definitely. If you're at different levels of fitness and skill it's a sure fire way of having a domestic.
