racman Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 So I am also thinking about possibly changing frames - Please give reasons after voting (rather than just saying - " BECOME SPECIAL" or similair) Or should I keep the BMC SL01 and get better wheels? In a frame I am looking for the best combo of weight vs stiffness vs handling vs cosmetic apeal (Yeh, yeh, I know, I know - so is everyone else as well) Are there any other carbon frames under 15k that I left out?racman2008-03-17 00:28:07

FanieFiets Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Koop my Cervelo.....Dit kos gewoonlik oor R 30 000-00 maar vir jou sal ek spesiale prys gee. On weight vs stiffness vs handling vs cosmetic apeal it will beat all the other options. ?This year Team CSC have benefitted from arguably the most sophisticated bike in the pro peloton, the Cerv?lo Soloist Carbon?- CycleSport http://www.competitivecyclist.com/za/CCY?PAGE=PRODUCT&PRODUCT.ID=1944 http://www.cervelo.com/images/spacer.png Cyclingnews finds out that the Soloist Carbon is aero, stiff, comfortable and light!Soloist Carbon wins 2006 Bike of the Year Competition in Le Cycle (France)ProCycling Germany readers vote Soloist Carbon Team bike for 2006CycleSport follows the Soloist Carbon development process from start to finishBicycling reviews the Soloist CarbonCyclingnews.com readers vote the Team CSC Cerv?los as Best Team bikeCyclingnews.com readers also pick the Soloist Carbon as Best ProductCycling Weekly votes Soloist Carbon Best New Bike of the yearCycleSport features the Soloist Carbon in the Product ShowcaseCyclingnews.com reviews the Soloist CarbonRide Magazine (Australia) reviews the Soloist Carbon FanieFiets2008-03-17 01:15:46
AndreZA Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Stop being a ponse. Get yourself a custom Pegoretti. You'll have to wait 6-8 months though.
racman Posted March 17, 2008 Author Posted March 17, 2008 Thx guys 1) I don't have a custom steel but I do use my Colnago Tecnos (steel circa 1996) with 8spd Record every so often, so that sort of fills the nostalgic/romantic/comfort etc role2) Not ready yet otherwise Fanie's Cervelo would have been taken already, depending on size of course 3) I can't believe so few voted fo the Felt - I though it was a pretty good buy4) I always knew that there were a lot of people who feel that they are "SPECIAL" and they do also look like a great buy5) The Silverback and Solis are substantially cheaper than 15k but don't seem to have the "street cred" yet (does it really matter?) Anyway will see what the outcome is in a few more days. All suggestions welcome.
racman Posted March 17, 2008 Author Posted March 17, 2008 Hey ewep - what are you getting now that you "trashed" the Colnago? (Glad to hear you survived and are OK !)
GreyOwl Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Dude, quit messing around...just get another Colnago!! You know how good they are already...

But I'll make sure I am either POSER of the year or get better times (poser, HERE I COME!!!)
GreyOwl Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Both the De Rosa and the Colnago are awesome. I've never ridden DR, but I would consider them. In my opinion, if you go with the others you mentioned, you'll always wonder to yourself "how would that Colnago/De Rosa have ridden?" Thats my opinion...
