Riding time = 24 mins from home to Tokai, 1 hour to the mast, 15 mins to ride down & 21 mins to get home.

Amount of riding time granted by wife = 2 hours. As soon as I can take a nice chunk of time of the rest of my ride I will hit the singletrack until then, I will leave it to the baggy pant brigade

How about growing a pair dude. Your wife sounds way over con'troll'ing.

I've found that the guys who can't be bothered to greet are the "mountain roadies", in their team bibs and matching tops, usually riding a carbon bike, wearing shoes that look like they should be used on the road only.

Yes, this might be a generalisation, but that's my experience, and that's coming from me... A roadie who rides the mountain in baggies and flat pedals.

I like to call them "Fireroad Warriors"

Thanks guys. Guess it's Vasbyt from now on.

It's actually much safer if you think about it. Your average speed down the jeeptrack is what 60kph? on the singletrack you'll be averaging 20-30. Whilst the speed might not contribute to the frequency of a crash it's certainly gonna contribute to the severity.

I love running down the DH track on DH 3 and seeing if I can run with the dirt roadies.

What's wrong with bombing the JT? This is about as bad as saying it's not mountain biking?!

I really miss my dirt bike but why get one if I can drift loose dirt corners and pop every lift in the track on my Sukuma. Fat Tyres, long travel, tight 26inch wheels makes for a fast, snappy and wild ride down from the switchbacks. Sure, it's not singletrack but make no mistake, it's actually a really cool trip down.

Reminds me most of the Swartberg pass.. just not as fast!!

Maybe we should have a Kamikaze DH event, circumvent all the ST!
Oh and 120mm stems and 600mm bars with no dropper posts and very little suspension and 58t chainrings while wearing a skin suit.

Or maybe just a Klunker day.....back pedal brakes for the win!!!

That's not a bad idea, the first part that is.. I'm not some ageing hipster, I know I'm uncool. XO trail brakes ftw!

Yeah I'm with you.

I dont mind guys riding slow on any track as long as they enjoy themselves and doesn't mind if i do a double backflip over them. ;) no seriously it just a matter of ma slowing down a bit and waiting for them to pull to the side.

BUT to the guy who flew past my gf on the jeep track in his tights at 400km/hour while she was on the left n no ones way... And shouted "get out the way"... You could be glad i didn't want to leave my gf coz it was her first time, but if i see you again. I'm gonna snap your knees.. Then lets see how well you do on strava.

That's the same kind of guy who I was talking about originally. Nobody else matters to them. They can ride as they please and everybody else must get out of their way. Jeep track, single track - all the same to them.

Just add a hand pump to the front wheel. You will laugh and he will cartwheel. Win win situation.
