Please see attached video link of XCO trail at Coetzenberg. The XCO Nationals take place on the 18th and 19th July at Coetzenberg and the DH at Jonkershoek.

UCI are interested if the venue and event can attract about 15000 people. The goal at Coetzenberg is about 7000 minimum. Let's all try and circulate this reminder to all cyclists that we know to attend the event. A great attendance strengthens the case for a UCI event to be held here in the future. Pietermaritzburg lost the event due to poor attendance. The trail is mind blowing and designed for spectator pleasure.

Let's give it a go.

Thanks,

Luckily I see this one has some more marketing. The provincials in Stellies almost went by without anyone noticing.

Hopefully the weather doesn't keep the numbers low.  Looks like it's going to be a wet one.

According to YR the sun will be out for the day.  Track will be muddy though, so added spectator value for sure.  I reckon I'll be setting up at the rock garden.  Sure to have some drama.

Just checked the program, will only be able to watch the woman compete but it is going to be a MUDFEST with yr predicting almost 50mm rain on friday.

Went to watch today. What a day! Great racing, great weather and decent size crowd. I really itched to ride with them.

Congrats to all who participated, really looked like a tough course.

My only gripe was the quality of the "race village": refreshments very limited in quality offerings and no vendors of biking goodies which is always a treat to browse through (or send the rest of the family to with hints for next birthday / anniversary /Christmas ).
