Update:

The first draft of the routes have been done... sheww Durbanville is by no means flat!
Will keep you updated with progress, currently it's a 70km (1900m Ascent) / 42km (1000m ascent) - looking at making the Half Marathon abit easier...

Ultra 112km with 3000m ascent...

Heeheehee I like I like the Ultra Ascent, proper pain cave stuff.

Route must include Contermanskloof Blue Route, plus the concrete section to the top of the mast is a must, Meerendal - Dorstberg climb with the downhill descents & all other single tracks, basically all of Meerendals trails.

So you don't like Hoogekraal & Bloemendal?  :whistling:

Yeah, I do, but i still want to enjoy them after the race, imagine what that high volume traffic will do to those already powdery trails, it will be ripped up to shreds, hence i didnt include it

so as a nobody, can I qualify to ride the 75km or is that what the 20km fun ride is therefore?

Go for it!!!  Go BIG or go home as the saying goes.

My first stage race was the Berg and Bush descent (3 days) - didn't try out for a smaller one first up.  Another saying for you - Just Nike it.  LOL

It sounds like an awesome route, the Ultra is going to be a killer with the climbing + January heat.

i did the ultra in 2012 & 2013 in Tulbagh & to say it was a killer is an understatement. March/April in Tulbagh was still freakin hot.
