I did the 45 last year- as far as I know it will be the same- this is last year's thread:

Dullstroom 45 for me was easier than Barberton's, just a couple of real wet patches (1 particular moer deep hole...)

And just when you think you're nearly done, and ride into Dunkeld, then there awaits another 5 odd km single track, but lekker race.

Apparently the profiles are being issued tomorrow.

Don't worry about the profiles........water points was an issue last year!!!!

Last official water point was a single hose pipe from some farmer's yard.

Profiles are out, but no mention of accent, or am I missing something?

Look towards the right hand of the page when viewing the isuu booklet. It shows both the half and full:

Full: 75.1km/1600m

Half: 40.5/800m

Do not underestimate that 10km climb from about 49k's on the marathon.

Brutal after 50k's at altitude...

Brutal will be the weather.......start preparing guys. Yr.no and Windguru predict very cool to cold weather during race time with some 18km/h wind gusts.......and maybe some rain (and mud). Accuweather shows another story.

And considering the current weather in PTA....... it just might be one of those classic events where mother nature joins the ride.......regte ou vasbytertjie!

I am aldo very worried about the rain, not in the mood to grind my drivetrain to a nice and blunt polish.

Crater Cruise over the same weekend ... also a 2 day event... mmmm which to do???

Dullstroom for me, no question. Nothing against Crater Cruise but 110km of corrugated district road is mind numbing.
