I love seeing all these old bikes.

You have a very impressive collection, and a neat garage :)

Thank you. Occasionally it does become a mess for a while and then free time comes along and I tidy up a bit. LOL

feel stupid for selling my 1985 Mongoose expert a while back...for a mere R500

Oh no...Eish. Well I am sorry for selling my Supergoose in 2001 also for R600 for Campus party money. LOL

I had a yellow motomag as a kid. Loved that bike. Spent many many hours roaming the streets, parks and hidden riding spots on it. Good times !

Where do you find most of them, gumtree, word of mouth?

Everywhere I can basically from word of mouth brought up in conversation to people telling me they saw this that and the other to purchasing from EBay and BMXmuseum etc. Gumtree has only brought me a Diamondback but that was due to an add I place in search of these types of bikes.

Its funny you mention this and I notice your location is KZN. I actually bought mine from someone in Durban and what is the chances that this one could have possibly been yours as a kid?

So I did a little mock build of my 1985 Minigoose. This is what I vision for it.

My plans are to make the frame, fork and stem white and also build it like an Eric Rupe but a mini version of it using the Eric Rupe stickers with a custom "mini" incorporated.

Did some work on the 83 Expert as well yesterday. I needed to make it "roadworthy" so I added some brakes (although not ideal to be front) as well as a temporary chain ring until I get the right one to use.

Even in the "survivor' look this bike rides really well. Very smooth, etc. I do not plan to recondition this one at all at far as the frame and fork goes.

Could very well be, it looked exactly like that.

Post pics when it's retsored.
