Also tried the barn yesterday after not going there for about 6 months. The changes they have made are awesome! The R45 (R32 if you go for a 20 ticket!) is really great value! Remember, there is a super nice venue to eat and relax with friends and family afterwards as well.

also rode yesterday, huge thumbs up to builder, good to have venue on this side of town, not having to ride irene/cornwall hill with its security  problems of late

Hi Dirt Merchant, and other table toppers at the BRB

All the Berms and Jumps have hardened really well after the rain. After trying the jumps in their hardened state, I couldn't have agreed with you about the Kickback effect. I believe I have fixed the problem and you can now hit the jumps at full tilt and land them quite comfortably.

I really value input like this from other riders as learning to build Trails Jumps Berms etc has been a work in progress for me and my team of trail builders led by Enos.

My next work in progress will be small  pump tracks at various places on the course, and any constructive criticism will be highly valued.

Hi Dominic,

We went to BRB on Sunday, and I agree 100% about the jump lips. They are nice and compacted, and loads of fun!

Keep up the good work!

Hi Dominic

You guys have done a real awesome job!

I just have a few suggestions:

1. The bridges (all of them) are very dodgy, I'd recommend building them from stronger material (proper wooden planks or even steel, maybe try to get some sponsors to put logos on them etc?). Currently I feel these bridges are a safety risk. And they look "un-maintained" as well, with most of them missing some crossmembers.

2. It would be nice if you could smooth out the berms, many of them have "humps" in the middle, which detracts from the speed and flow that one would expect from large berms like these. On the established berms it should be easy now to see where the high spots are and smooth them out?

Regards

Christie

Yah. But there's a few jumps in the making in the corner by the cement factory (on the trials course side of the farm)

Where do you gain access onto the trail on the opposite side?

Where do you gain access onto the trail on the opposite side?

With the USN race we crossed the tar road, then about 50m riding next to the tar, (away from Irene's direction) you turn in on a dirt road. Dominic will have to confirm where the dedicated entrance is

Humps in the berms?

Like in braking bumps?

It is normal for berms to have/develop these when ridden by all-levels-of-skills-riders. In France they were about half a wheel deep on a DH line (where speed was suppose to be very high) and develop like that within a day or two. Unfortunatly it happend because most people brake in the berms and dont ride them like they are meant to be ridden (yes I am guilty too at some berms). I think it will keep them busy every weekend just to 'make it smooth' if that is what people want.

Hopefully he's not referring to the "jump-in-the-berm" at Francine's Freeride. That is one of the coolest features at BRB. I only recently managed to land that....

No, I was not referring to braking bumps. Big difference between a hump (think speed hump..) and braking bumps.

The hump in the berm at Francine's is a jump...you're suppose to clear the little gap and land on the other side of the second hump. If just roll it, it effectively becomes a speed hump.

Met Dominic this morning while he was building some new trails with some of his crew. Bud you doing a great job at the barn, awesome trails and just getting better and better. Will be there again tomorrow to try out the new table top bridge jump with the new line. Maybe next time we meet you will have your bike with you and we grab a beer after. Cheers, Marius (the guy with the yellow baggies on the trance)

Check out the new trail Rosie's Rock n Roll rollercoaster inspired by the AC /DC song "whole lotta Rosie". Opens up on public holiday 16 December. Should be the best trail once it has been ridden in. 14 rollers. One massive table top called Rosie a 2 nd. Smaller table top and 7 berms.

The question is who is going to be the first to jump and clear Rosie?
