I rode with Ian on many occasions with Cresta Wheelers as a laaitie.  He passed away very suddenly and I remember it affecting my perspective on life.

Anyone still keen on entering can do so at Northcliff Cycles from 0800-1300 on Saturday 6/12/2014, the day before the event. Cost is R140.

 

Pre-entries are looking good, and we are looking forward to another memorable Ian Kernick.

Based on past years there will be a wide range of finishing times. These will range from 13h20 (15 km/h minimum speed for Audax events, and 6h45 (30 km/h, the maximum speed for Audax events).

Are hou saying threy apply maximum speed limits?

 

More importantly, i have not done the ride before, how many water tables and what drinks or snaks will be available?

Just checked Accuweather: ~50% of thunderstorms from 4 onwards.

 

Now there is an incentive to ensure it is over and done with under 11 hours.

 

PS personally will be happy if I am back in 8h
