CPT - absolutely bloody awesome, only two minor techs (DDay + 1 hr.....brake pad securing nut came adrift and bust RD cable from dropping off some shore too early)......put it this way, my two favourite trails were Chatels Ride Humble (red) and Les Get's Pleney Black...go check em out on my Youtube channel, and bonus points for the 104km Enduro via Switzerland.....

No flats, minor adjustments to Vivid Coil and that's it....it was the dogs bollocks!

Yes it, even though most of it on the north shore section is still beyond my knyp meter...

Fire hut, I really love. As soon as you remove the gaps and stuff which I still really really battle with, I'm okay. Slowly getting better, but that's when it helps to rode with okes like Andrew Van Aswegen and Brood Opman. Those okes fly...

Saw Brood today. Popped his shock.

Yeah, and his bro is looking for a new one for him. Haven't ridden with him for a while now, but one thing struck me. VERY humble about his abilities on the bike and is more than happy to lend a hand with a tip or pointer...

VERY good rider, and can put many to shame.

After my early sun morn ride at tokai after seeing this video, I realised I have alot to regain after my knee surgery. Now the mere fact of me being able to ride, walk and run is not good enough anymore

I didnt ride as well as this before the opp, but there were some jumps that I would take and now its like i just drop along the other side back to the trail as apposed to floating over. Lots of balance has been lost

Chatting to one of the WP competitive downhillers today highlighted some of the things I am not getting 100 % right when riding jumps. I think its tricky at Tokai because there are many features that are drops not jumps and they require a slightly different technique. You need to ride jumps differently.

He pointed out that its not speed alone that clears a jump but the right technique ("duh"). If you don't use the lip properly ie compress your bike into the lip before take off you will lose height and distance. If you get this right you can clear big gaps without excessive speed. Less speed probably translates into more control, especially if there are corners involved.

I have used this in the past to get some distance in the past but have been neglecting it of late ie not focusing on compressing the lip too much as it has become second nature on the smaller stuff. In fact I need to focus on it again and less on speed as the jumps I ride  get bigger.

Nice Tim. Theo (Tay-Ho) followed me on a run at Steilte yesterday to crit me. I've only ever been to one riding clinic and never got much value out of it tbh.

Focus must have been out ;)

Not likely....in fact, if you freeze the action, I'm still moving!!!!! You CANNOT get faster than that!!!

PINNED!!

It was so rad to watch the progression over there. You, Nico, Murray, Steve, Martin, Terry especially. Actually. Everyone took a big step forward. From hardly getting air on those big tables on Zore to sending them with ease and even getting a little styley.
