Merida Big Nine 600 (2015) vs Merida Big Nine 1000 lite ( 2014)

Looking to buy a decent bike around R12000

 

Can get both these bikes for under R12000

 

Any opinions on which one you would prefer or are the better one.

 

Both looks more or less specced the same but I dont know finer details like wheels etc.

Go for the 1000 Lite,hands down the winner between the two.

The 1000 Lite is just that, it is much lighter than the 600 (according to Merida website anyway). It also has better specked components overall.

Agreed, last year we went for the big 7 lite for the wife, and it was better specced than the newer version

I've got the 1000 lite and love it! Haven't looked at the 2015 models, but last year the frame of the 1000 lite just looked way better than that of the 100,300 etc.

Jip, can't really understand Merida's thinking...the 1000 light frame is vastly superior to their other offerings...also ridw one and it's up there with my previous alu Giant XTC Team frame for geometry

Yes new. Hotspotcycles had specials over Desember.
