Happy to cover the postage! Alternatively, I have family and mates on the East Rand (Benoni) if that would be easier?

If that's who I think it is I wouldn't advertise that here mate ;)

a little / lot off topic here.

I have just had some major surgery done myself and will be off the bike for a good couple of months.

I have a 2012 camber expert with the "specialized RP2" shock on, which looks pretty much like a standard propedal RP2 (200x50) to me. since 2012 is has only had air sleeve services and I haven't sent it in because of time off bike / expense.

I have upgraded the front fork on my bike to a revelation RCT3 130mm (HUGE difference from the float RL that was on there).... but I am wondering if it is worth sending my RP2 in for a good service while I am off the bike, or should I rather upgrade?

Is it a good shock? It hasn't given me any problems, holds air, and stands a large amount of abuse from me. Just wondering if it wouldn't be worthwhile spending money elsewhere?

I was considering a monarch RT3 FWIW.

Nothing wrong with the RP2, but the Monarch will be a bit of an upgrade IMO. All depends on what you're willing to spend and what else is on your upgrade list.

There truly are still good people out there in this wonderful world of ours...

Just a quick thank you to the El Capitan clan for assisting with the transport and to droo at Stoke Suspension for servicing my shock

Thanks guys! Much appreciated! Finally going to be able to swing my leg over my bike and go for a ride.

Bike is back together and all is working great. I figured out that my Pro Pedal never worked from day one....

It works now though

Thanks again!!

(Still keen to try the DIY thing... Anybody with a shot RP2/23 lying around that they want to donate as a science project, PM me, my mailbox is never locked ;) )

Pleasure, boet!

Other upgrades would be looking at upgrading my existing xo rear der. for a type 2 clutch type as I get a lot of chain slap. current der. has done a GOOOOOOOOD couple of thousand km with a only some pulley wheel changes in between.

Im happy with my existing 2x10 setup.... 1 x 11 would just be wasting money for me imo. I"m a weekend warrior, a couple of grams in weight don't justify the cost.

My command post has now died a horrible death, so that will be changed anyway and is a different point of discussion.

Other than that I have only thought of wider wheels, but I already have the roval control trail wheelset, so to upgrade on that would be a lot more than the monarch!

In terms of spend, I have estimated that a full proper service on my old triad shock at about R1500 (with courier etc), and about R3500 for the monarch.... and first prize would be finding one that would match the black stantions on the revelation up front.
