I clearly don't ride enough because using the  above low labor method I have yet to suffer from gears slipping on worn drive chain components

I got over 7000k's on an XX drivetrain with a single chain. Then I changed cassette and chain. Rode another 7000k's before I had to change chainrings.

 

I have also never broken a chain in my life......touch wood....and I have been riding for 30 years. Keep it clean and lubed.

 My guess is that I would have got a lot more out of the drive train were it not for the broken teeth on the cassette. But its good to know that a lot more is possible.

there are plenty of chain threads on the hub, but this one hasn't had JB commenting on it. 

 

It's just not the same. All the other chain threads must think it's a loser.
