Yup and it's not been going well. They had to neutralise the first bit of De Panne because of more wind and end-of-the-world type conditions.

Kristoff won (looking good), interestingly Debusschere was up in the break and has been having some good form leading into Ronde.

All the usual suspects rolled home 34s later inc Twiggy in 40th odd spot.

Edit: continuing his form from the weekend Gert Steegmans was getting blown off his bike quite well in this race as well. This time not into the nearest river.

News just in: Boonen has announced he's targeting Paris-Roubaix for his return from injury.

Hmm, I saw that, might be a long ask for him to win so soon after such an injury though.

Personally I will be rooting for Wiggins, I think he is a class act and capable of winning almost any race he puts his mind to.

As for Sagan, Hmm, dont know, I have always liked his panache but I dont think he stands a chance at PR, Wiggins, Terpstra and clan will eat him for breakfast.

Wiggins has one of the best palmares in the pro peleton, there is not much he hasnt achieved, if (as we are led to believe) PR is one of his goals, be sure he will be up there contesting,..... and I'll be down here rooting.!

Even if Berto rode for FDJ, he'd still be my favourite GC rider. Pity 'bout all the Saxo *** going on.

Yeah, me too although I dont think the the problems at Saxo will bother 'Berto much, at that level he will be fairly insulated and I think he is made of much sterner stuff, (remember the LA / Bruyneel issues he had to contend with at the TDF)... not much gets him down, which is also one of the reasons he is so liked by the fans.

No moping around the team bus complaining of how hard things are for 'Berto,  he gets up,  shakes himself off, puts on a smile and races as hard as he can. Who can ask for more.?

Same here, I'll be rooting for the grumpy old guy too ;)

Wonder if Twiggy will bust out this from his classics collection for the day. Nicola Minali's 1996 Paris-Roubaix frame.

Boonen will surely not contest and be lead rider for Ettix

He is better off serving Stybar, Terpstra, ain't he?

Any event, let's first enjoy the awesomeness that is Ronde'

Gerant Thomas is not very flattering of Bradley Wiggins chances

“[Ghent-Wevelgem yesterday was] not his sort of race, that’s for sure — the wind, the tensions and the stress,” Thomas told Cycling Weekly. “I think he can manage to still get by.”

“Tom Boonen is training hard, there is one percent chance that he will compete in the Paris-Roubaix race,” Coucke said on Twitter.

“Tom explained that he would certainly check out the Paris-Roubaix course. After that he will make a decision on whether he will compete in the race. “Hope springs eternal,” said Coucke.

Tom Boonen out on his bike this morning. He left at 09h30 for a planned 150 km ride with 8 of his teammates on the Flanders course. "I'll see how long I can ride," he told the SportWereld paper as he headed off.

Watch his Twitter feed for feedback after the ride...
