Hi Gents,

Need some advise from the guys that have achieved the above mentioned time  :

Would like to set myself some goals to judge progress against when I do the ride, so basically a landmark with time against it.

This is where I think I should be ,but is probably out, please help

Fishoek                                 - 45min

Bottom of smits                     -60min

Misty Cliffs                            -90min

Ocean view                          -100min

Bottom of chappies              -140min

Bottom of Suikerbossie        -170min

End                                      -180min

Not too sure what was meant by bottom ... bottom before climbing, or bottom after descending.?

Definitely not bottom before climbing, From 12 apostles its about 10-11km. Either way he will have to pull out a super human effort

I love it when guys become obsessed with a sub 3. Be it 104km or 109km, a sub 3 it must be. I don't even bother anymore. I do the race, check the results a few days later and there it is, 2:50 again.

Best rides often happen when there's little fuss.

Ramster - not trying to be nasty but unless you are in the right group you are not going to do a sub-3.

Time-split charts are useless. Everything depends on the conditions of the day and what the group is doing.

My advice, forget about sub 3, go out and ride as fast as you can and enjoy the day. Next season use your good Argus time as a launchpad to a better seeding and then a sub-3
