anyone ridden in one those dakine tops? without a front zip? any heat issues?

I bought one in Morzine last year.  They are not the coolest, but they wick sweat extremely well.  Never felt like I was overheating and I get very hot.

You can't buy any clothing from over the water otherwise customs here is SA will make you *** AND BETAAL. So has to be local.

Not really had that issue that much, I tend to get stuff brought over by relo's / mates and sent as presents for birthdays etc. Actually come to think of it most of the stuff I've get sent in directly hasn't really attracted that much extra charges. Though I think that's a thread all on it's own.

Edit: that Loose Riders kit is pretty darn sweet. Will be seeing if I can hook up a couples of jerseys.

If you ask to send your parcel as a present would it come through unscathed from customs?

Dude, the vaguries of the post office are beyond me!  I'm still not sure why I have to pay a handling charge when I'm pretty certain the 'handler' gets a wages for his job which is 'handling' packages all day long! :)

Seriously though, I've not really got a hold on the customs here but I haven't ever had to pay big bills when picking up packages, normally a handling charge and that's about it and I've had fair amount sent over since I jumped off the plane (shoes, shorts, wheels, jerseys, tyres, bars etc).

Maybe I've just been lucky, I'm sure there are more qualified guys on here who can answer that Q and I'd hate to steer you in the wrong direction.
